Incoloy 925 Ni-Fe-Cr Alloy Welding Wire Introduction
Incoloy 925 (UNS N09925)is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum and copper. It combines the high strength of a precipitation-hardenable alloy with the excellent corrosion resistance of INCOLOY alloy 825. The alloy has outstanding resistance to general corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking in many aqueous environments including those containing sulfides and chlorides.
Alloy 925 offers corrosion resistance compared with that of alloy 825, but with higher strength obtained by age hardening. The combination of nickel and chromium renders protection in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. The high nickel content also gives resistance to chloride ion stress-corrosion cracking. Pitting and crevice corrosion resistance is also excellent.
