Inconel 601 Nickel-Chromium-Iron Alloy Welding Wire

Inconel 601 Nickel-Chromium-Iron Alloy Welding Wire Introduction

Inconel 601 is a standard engineering material that has great resistance to heat and corrosion. Inconel 601 also has high strength and good workability with excellent metallurgical stability and a high resistance to carburization. Inconel 601 is hardened and strengthened through a cold work process.

The aluminum content gives this alloy excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation. Inconel 601 is not age-hardenable and is only strengthened by cold working. Inconel 601 can operate from cryogenic temperatures up to 645°F (340°C).

The alloy can also be used in thermal Processing, chemical processing, Gas turbine, power generation and aerospace. It also can be used for industrial furnaces, heat-treating equipment such as baskets, muffles and retorts, petrochemical and other process equipment, and gas turbine components.  Inconel wire cloth is commonly used for heat treat fixtures, baskets, and trays.

Standard Wire Finishes
Extra Clean: (XC) Extra clean is also referred to as “bright annealed” or “bright annealed and cold rolled”
Grease (round wire only): Drawn in a heavy grease produces an “Ultrabright” finish for decorative applications
Soap (round wire only): Soap is used as a lubricant in the drawing process and is not removed. It acts as a lubricant during customer part forming operation. A soap finish is available in tempered products.
Plated: Many plating options are available.
